Used this four times now. Works great. Tires maintain pressure. Yes, a patched tire is statistically more likely to rupture than a new one, but only slightly. Running a tire at -5 psi under the recommended pressure is far more dangerous, and that happens every day. Doing it yourself this way is likely safer than getting it done at Walmart.

My husband is constantly getting screws in his tire, due to his line of work. One day he came home telling me all about this product his coworker let him use and how we needed to get it, it would save us alot of money. So, if you are capable of plugging your own tire, it is great! However, I have not tried it so I am not sure how easy it is…
I HAD SIMILIAR PROBLEMS AS THE OTHER REVIEWERS. I WALKED OUT TO MY CAR, STARTED IT UP, STARTED BACKING OUT MY DRIVE AND… THUD THUD THUD BUMP BUM BUMP! IVE HEARD AND FELT THAT BEFORE! I STEPPED OUT,MY FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT! I DRIVE A SOUPED UP CLASSIC LINCOLN, WITH ALL WHITEWALL TIRES, USED TIRE SHOPS IN MY AREA NEVER HAVE A WHITEWALL TO FIX MY CAR, AND IT IS NOT REALLY SAFE TO MOUNT A BRAND NEW TIRE WITH OTHER, USED TIRES! OH NO! I GET TO DRIVE MY CAR AROUND WITH 3 WHITEWALLS UNTIL I BUY A NEW SET OF TIRES… I THINK NOT! I FILLED THE TIRE WITH SLIME, VERY EASY, AIRED IT UP AS USUAL, DROVE IT FOR A MILE OR TWO TO EVEN OUT THE SLIME. THE NEXT DAY MY TIRE STILL HAD PERFECT PRESSURE, I USUALLY HAVE TO TOP OFF MY TIRES ATLEAST ONCE A WEEK, NEEDLESS TO SAY, I SLIMED ALL MY TIRES AND I DONT HAVE THAT PROBLEM ANYMORE! THOUGH I WOULDNT SUGGEST THIS… I ACTUALLY RACED ON MY PREVIOUSLY FLAT SLIMED TIRE, PRESSURE IS STILL PERFECT! AWESOME PRODUCT, YOU SHOULD TRY IT BEFORE YOU RUN TO YOUR LOCAL SHOP, SAVED ME HUNDREDS ON A NEW SET OF TIRES!THANKS SLIME!
I purchased slime several years ago to fix a leak in my car tire. The tires never leaked again for the 4-5 years we had the car.
I’m about to get another bottle as a leak has surfaced in a different car. This stuff is amazing. I have no doubt it will work perfectly again.
At this time there is one bad review for this product. Ignore it. The reviewer did not leave enough information to judge whether they used the product correctly or even were using the right product for the right job. Slime should have a solid 5 star rating.
I bought Slime a long time ago and forgot I had it until I had a totally flat tire, and a meeting I didn’t want to miss. I found a nail stuck in my truck tire and removed it. Then I noticed that Slime recommended a 16 oz dose of Slime for a car tire, but I only had an 8 oz bottle, which I used anyway. I removed the valve stem with the cleverly designed valve stem remover, and connected the hose attachment that comes with the bottle, and squeezed. I used my pocket knife to make a hole in the bottom of the bottle to help squeeze all the formula into the tire. I replaced the valve and filled the tire with air 5 days ago and it’s still inflated. I don’t know what “dungeonrat” did to rate this product so low, but I’m buying more. This stuff works great!!!
I had a slow leak in my tire loosing about 10PSI a day I tried this stuff works great its very easy to use and not messy at all just follow the directions. Tip try only using half the amount the bottle says to use it will make the tire unbalanced and give you a slight wobble but after a certiant speed it goes away.
You pretty much don’t have a choice if you purchase a K&N air filter…you have to have the recharger. The question is whether or not you want to purchase it along with your first-time purchase of the K&N air filter.
I just went ahead and purchased everything to take advantage of the free shipping. However, it’s going to be quite some time before I actually have to use it (50,000 miles in some cases where conditions are great). So if you don’t mind storing this stuff for later on, then get it now. Otherwise, I’d just wait till you actually need it.
I went with the spray just for convenience. It seems easier and faster to apply compared to dropping the liquid in straight lines along all the ridges. However, it could be a bit messy if you’re not careful.
What do you say about a cleaning product? Yes, it works as promised. Yes, I feel better that my clean air filter is better protecting my $40k truck. Yes, it was easy to do. No, I don’t LIKE doing it. But hey, years ago I had a crummy paper filter come apart and suck up into the mass-airflow-sensor… disabling the truck and costing over $100 to diagnose and fix, so I’ll stick with K&N! Well OK, I felt a bit more “manly” working on the truck too.
A bit expensive, but this item is great at doing the job it is meant to do. Always cleans and re-oils the filter without issues. Make sure to get the aerosol oil rather than the squeeze.
I have a K&N life time filter and I buy this once a year to recharge it. Works great the cleaner really cleans it well. I usually use the entire bottle of cleaner up but not the oil. The only downside is the fact you have to wait for it to try before putting it back in the car. I usually do the change before I go to bed and put it back in the car when I wake up in the morning. Taking it out cleaning and putting it back in usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes.
The tire repair kit is well made and the pouch is comes in is high quality. The entire package fits nicely under my baseball cap in the rear seat compartment on my sport bike. The 90 degree inflation device makes it easy to get in around the rotor(s)/chain. I recommend this item, as it is worth every penny.
Like a dunderhead I ran over some roofing nails with my kubota tractor and the tires kept going flat every 2 days. Well, 3 plugs later and I didn’t love any air over the course of a month and in the winter nonetheless. I am very impressed with this plug set and have already ordered more. Can’t say what it’ll do for a car, but the tractor weighs more then a ton itself so I have confidence that this would perform well on an automobile.
I as many others have discovered the annoyance of having just been the proud owner of a new rear tire on my Victory Vegas 8 Ball. I then found a week after my glorious purchase, that the tire was violated by a big-ass nail (new technical term). I contemplated sliming the inside of the tire, but opted out for fear that I would end up counter balancing the weight of the tire. I bought these plugs at my local Yamaha dealer, and after 20 minutes the install was done. Installation was incedibly simple. After removing the excess and topping it with the included rubber cement, the tire wasis able to maintain the recommend preasure. I plan on using this on my car as well as I have a screw that I need to remove. Cheers hope you all find this helpful. Best wishes and happy holidays.
don’t pay $10 at an oil change place to fix a nail hole, buy this kit and do it yourself. even women could handle using this kit!!
